Peer Influence a Top Driver of Employee Engagement [Video]

While managers and HR leaders certainly play a role, a recent Oracle study titled “Simply Talent” has revealed that peers are the top drivers of employee engagement. Employees look to their fellow workers to find inspiration at work, particularly millennials. One way HR leaders can foster an engaged and positive environment is to encourage peer-to-peer feedback and recognition. Employees value having their achievements recognized by their peers and are more likely to take feedback to heart if its coming in laterally. Another way to foster engagement is to focus on how employees can grow within a company rather than simply giving raises. This makes an employee feel more integrated in the company as a whole.
